|Day 01: Arrive Banglore
Arrive Bangalore Airport.
Day 02: Banglore-Mysore: 140kms 3-4 hrs
Drive to the Palace city of Mysore. Afternoon sightseeing of the city.
Day 03: In Mysore
We start a our cycling trip with a ride to Srirangapatna
A place of great historic religious and cultural importance. Pass the full day amidst the various indo-Islamic monuments that dot the town.
Day 04/07: Cycling from Mysore to Guruvayur.
We cycle through the forests of Bandipur, Madhumalai forests, Climb upto the Hills of Ooty and
Descent down the western Ghats.
Passing though hills, lakes and plenty of waterfalls we pedal our way along the hills and enter to more tropical areas of Kerala.
Day 08: To Elephant Temples 4-5 hrs
Today's ride takes us to the famous ELEPHANT TEMPLES.Explore the enchanting lands for the whole day. Many elephants of Guruvayur have become the part of history. The sweet memories of Gajarajan Kesavan - literally the king of all Elephants- still enthrall the hearts of the elephant lovers worldwide. The mammoth physique, his intelligence and devotion to the Lord were very famous.
Day 09: Guruvayoor - Cochin - Kms 5-6 Hrs
An early start as we cycle through the coastal route towards Fort Kochi passing through fishing villages, paddy fields and small villages along the way, stopping over at Chendamangalam Synagogue for a visit. After the lunch, continue the ride and cross the harbour mouth at Kochi on 'junkar' ferry - a great experience. The stay will be at Old Courtyard, a graceful heritage hotel built around a courtyard and a mango tree.
Day 10: In Cochin
We Continue to explore the old quarter of Fort Kochi visiting the St Francis Church, the Chinese Fishing nets, the naval War Museum, the Dutch Palace and synagogue. In the evening, ferry to go over to the new city Ernakulam to 'Broadway' and the bazaars there.
Day 11: Cochin - Alleppey - 2 Hrs drive
After an early breakfast, start cycling for the day. Leaving the busy roads of Fort Cochin, hit the beach road that will take us to our destination for the day,we Pass through popular Vembanad Lake .The beautiful lake stretches in the heartlands of Kerala .Riding through the fishing villages and coconut plantations listening to the sounds of the sea on one side and seeing the life of fishing villages on the other. We will stop at Andhakaranazhy - a great stretch of beach where we will have lunch. We will also stop at the Arthunkal church - famous locally as a refuge for those venturing into the sea. On arrival, relax at the poolside or take off to the magnificent Alleppey beach.
Day 12: Alleppey
Today we head towards Alleppey jetty and embark on the rice boat for a memorable journey through the backwaters. Watch the village life along the backwater s as the villagers begin their day. The rice boat will take us through the tranquil backwaters giving us a closer view of village life that is centered on these backwaters. You can sunbathe on the deck or observe the landscape from the protection of the cabin. Canoes with huge sails still transport people and you will find vegetable sellers, fishermen and other household materials being brought door to door by small wooden boats. This whole area is surrounded with coconut palms and lush green rice fields.
Day 13: Cliff-top ride to Varkala.3-4 Hrs
After breakfast we take on the houseboat as we load our bikes on fishing boat to cross the river to Amrithanadamayi Ashram ,locally known as ythe Hugging Mama Ashram. We rejoin the main road to Quillon and then to Varkala. Besides being known for its extensive sandy beach, Varkala is popular for its historical background with vacationers who are looking for something more than the typical beach holiday.
